[An early initiative by DR’S Academy]
In order to produce socially responsible citizen and making them look beyond the campus life, this unconventional type of Project is recommended for all under-graduate students in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Computer Applications, B. Pharmacy and others.
The proposed Project intends to involve the students in identifying the issues existent in the society such as how to deal with in a panic situation, how to educate an indiscipline citizen at the public places, how to use the public resources in a most cost effective and meaningful manner, how to contribute in uplifting the needy children/students to upscale in the education and career planning and settlement, how to help the Senior Citizens to overcome their monotony, how to promote community living techniques and other host of issues connected with the Society. It’s conceived as a Group Project consisting of 5 students. They must brain-storm and come up with solutions through submission of a Project Report.
A viva-voce should be arranged by the college authorities inviting outside experts including representatives from industry, government agencies and parent representatives for evaluation. This will help the students to connect the campus with business and reconnect business with social progress. Through this, students are not only exposed to the social problems but also encourage them to come up with innovative solution for the problems; it will sow the seeds of social responsibility when they get in to corporate life later.
Each team has to choose a specific theme in the areas suggested above. All projects should necessarily involve on-the-field component and should be carried out under the guidance of a faculty member.
1. Mandatory 20 hours of field work
2. Certificate from host institution should be affixed
3. Report should be of free style report.
4. No specific format needs to be followed
5. An external guide should be allotted.
6. Report can be considered for IA grading.
7. Findings should be published in College Magazine
8. Provision for wide coverage by College for superior projects
9. Copy of Report should be lodged with stakeholders
10. Monotony should not step in while embracing D2S
